A good early nineteenth century French ‘Capucine’ timepiece with alarm

The well patinated brass case with hinged side panels and rear door standing on turned feet with finials and bell above surmounted by a folding handle. The white enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel moon hands and alarm set hand.
The eight-day duration timepiece spring barrel movement with pull alarm with tic-tac escapement and silk thread suspension. The main spring is marked with the date1822. Case height; 5 ¼ inches (13.5 cms). |
A small George III period ebony bracket clock.
The bell-top case glazed to the sides and rear with brass handle above. The brass dial with brass spandrels and silvered chapter, Roman numerals with Arabic seconds at five minute intervals, matted centre with false pendulum aperture and silvered plaque signed Wm. Freeman, London and in the arch a chapter for silent/strike selection. The two train fusee movement with verge escapement sounding the hours on a bell, with repeat via a cord, signed on the backplate William Freemen, High Holborn, London. Case height: 15 ¾ inches (40 cms). |

A fine quality gilt-brass strut timepiece.
The architectural style case with columns to the sides surmounted by pointed finials standing on bun feet, the rear signed J.W.BENSON, To H.R.H the Prince of Wales, 25 OLD BOND STREET, LONDON, with captive winder and hinged strut support. The silvered and engraved dial with Roman numerals and blued steel fleur de lys hands with pierced and foliate engraved gilt mask. The eight-day duration spring barrel movement with gilded plates and lever platform escapement. Case height: 7 inches (18cms). £4,500 |

A good George 111 period Bristol longcase clock.
The mahogany case of typical ‘Bristol’ style with panelled base and reeded canted corners; the break-arch hood, reeded in the arch with dentil moulding above; barley-twist columns with Corinthian capitols surmounted by three brass spire-ball finials. The brass dial showing phases of the moon, signed above the arch HIGH WATER AT BRISTOL KEY with tidal indicator, the engraved centre with seconds chapter and calendar aperture; the silvered chapter ring, signed Rich Baber, Blackwell, with Roman numerals and outside Arabic seconds at five minute intervals and pierced blued steel hands. The two train weight-driven movement with anchor escapement sounding the hours on a bell. Case height: 6ft 10in (209.5cms). |

The brass framed glazed case with white marble top and bottom with access doors to the front and rear. The two train going barrel movement sounding the hours and half hours on a bell with dead-beat escapement and compensated pendulum with bi-metallic rods with bob enclosing the glass covered mechanism indicating rise and fall of the pendulum. The signed white enamel dial with fine gilt hour and minute hands and a blued steel sweep second hand. Case height: 20 inches (51cms). |
