A good English Regency black marble and ormolu mantel timepiece.

Surmounted by an eagle on a drum-shaped case, the plinth mounted with a ram’s head at the centre with oak leaf and flower garlands mounted at each side with a seated figure of a Classical woman reading a book, the white enamel dial with blued steel moon hands and Roman numerals, the single train fusée movement signed on the front plate F. BAETENS, 28 GERRARD STREET, LONDON, with anchor escapement. The right hand book signed Coleman, 6 Westmorland St, London.

Overall height: 12 ½ inches (32cms).
