A rare large decorative gilt-brass strut clock with porcelain dial.

The well engraved octagonal shaped case, the rear with folding strut support, fixed winder and sliding aperture to access the escapement and numbered 1844. The oval porcelain dial with blue ground, almost certainly by the Minton factory, decorated with flowers and musical instruments signed at the top for J.W Benson, 25 Old Bond Street, with Roman numerals and gilt fleur-de-lys hands. The eight-day duration movement signed Thos. Cole LONDON with ratchet tooth lever escapement and plain steel balance.

Case height: 8 ¼ inches (21cms).
